AI Fashion Innovators, Historians, and Visionaries, FORWARD Fashion Toronto is thrilled to announce the upcoming magazine edition, “Timeless Transitions,” for our extension publication FORWARDai (the platform dedicated to exploring the intersection of AI and fashion.)
This edition seeks to blend fashion’s rich history and dynamic future through the lens of AI artistry and explore the profound connections between fashion’s past, present, and future. We are looking for original contributions that reflect the dynamic interplay of historical legacies and contemporary innovations in the world of style. We invite AI artists and creators from the fashion community to contribute their unique visions and interpretations, showcasing the seamless blend of tradition and innovation in fashion.
We invite submissions from AI designers, writers, photographers, and artists who can provide unique perspectives on how fashion transcends time, influencing and being influenced by its era’s cultural, technological, and environmental shifts. Whether you’re using AI to examine the resurgence of vintage trends, showcasing sustainable practices in modern design, or predicting the next big thing in fashion tech, we want to see how you have employed AI in your work. We want to know how you use and take your creativity to the next level with AI as a tool in your creative belt.
What We’re Looking For:
AI-Generated Fashion Artwork: Using AI as your medium, create pieces that reflect the evolution of fashion from past to present and envision the future.
AI-Driven Fashion Stories: Use AI to craft narratives or visual essays that explore key moments, movements, or icons in fashion history and project future trends and possibilities.
In-depth explorations of specific decades, iconic styles, or influential figures in fashion history.
Digital Fashion Designs: Utilize AI tools to design garments or collections that marry historical fashion elements with futuristic concepts.
AI-Enhanced Photography and Visuals: Submit fashion photography or visuals enhanced or created through AI, highlighting the timeless nature of fashion.
Visual narratives that capture the essence of time-transcending fashion, from historical retrospectives to futuristic imaginings.
Interviews: Conversations with industry pioneers, from legendary designers to trailblazing newcomers shaping fashion’s future.
Op-Eds: Insightful commentaries on the cyclical nature of fashion trends, sustainability in the industry, or the impact of global cultural exchanges.
Designer Spotlights: Profiles of brands and creators who masterfully blend traditional techniques with innovative approaches.

FORWARD is excited to present you “Decade Face-Off,” one of the key features of our Timeless Transition Edition. We juxtapose the iconic fashion of past decades with today’s trends inspired by those very eras.
Concept Overview:
“Decade Face-Off” seeks to create a visual and narrative journey through fashion history, comparing and contrasting the defining styles of each decade from the 1920s to the 2010s with their modern-day interpretations. It will illuminate the cyclical nature of fashion, showcasing how historical styles are reinvented in contemporary fashion.What We’re Looking For:
- Designs that reflect the iconic styles of a specific decade alongside modern pieces inspired by those eras.
- Photographic Submissions: High-quality images that capture the essence of each decade’s fashion, paired with contemporary styles that pay homage to those periods.
- Styling Portfolios: Stylists who can bring the authentic feel of each decade’s fashion to life while blending it with modern trends for your photoshoots.
- Fashion Historian Essays: Insightful articles or essays that delve into the fashion trends of the past, exploring their cultural significance and their reemergence in today’s fashion scene.

Concept Proposal:
Briefly outline your idea or contribution, specifying the decade(s) you wish to focus on and how you plan to juxtapose it with contemporary styles.
Visual Materials:
Submit high-resolution images of your proposed designs or photographic work. Provide a summary or draft of your article or essay for written contributions.
Biography and Portfolio:
Include a short biography detailing your experience and background in fashion.
Execution Plan:
Contributions should align with our execution plan, focusing on selected decades and trends, modern interpretations, photoshoot design, styling, and editorial content, culminating in a richly engaging and informative feature for our readers.
