The significance of this collection is deeply personal to me, interwoven with cherished childhood memories and my mother’s enduring legacy as a master weaver.
Growing up, I was surrounded by the rhythmic sound of the loom and the vibrant colours of handwoven textiles. My mother, a skilled weaver, was a guiding light in my life. Her meticulous craftsmanship and dedication to her art supported our family, and her love for weaving sparked my lifelong passion for textiles.
For my mother and countless weavers across Bhutan, weaving transcends craft—an expression of cultural pride, spirituality, and identity.
In “Ama’s Loom,” I’ve blended traditional Bhutanese weaving elements with contemporary designs to create ready-to-wear and couture pieces that are both timeless and modern.
